Next Wednesday, I’ll be performing a recital at Wesley Music Centre in Canberra as part of their Wednesday Lunchtime Live series. I first performed in this series in 2011 and I am excited to be returning!

I’ll be joined by the fabulous pianist Meriel Owen and play 3 works by German composers, written at very different times in history. The program is something of an emotional lunchbox (a fruitful (!) term to enter into a Google image search!), as (I feel) each of the pieces express some profound emotions of The Human Experience..!

On the program:
J. S. Bach Chaconne from the Partita No. 2 for solo violin (transcribed for viola)
P. Hindemith Trauermusik for viola and strings (piano)
J. Brahms Sonata No. 2 in E flat, Op. 120

I have played all these works for some time (in the case of Trauermusik, around 7 years) and find them constantly inspiring – they have all been written with deep sincerity and over time they seem to reveal different layers of meaning.

Concert:
Wednesday 14/May
12.40pm
Wesley Music Centre, National Circuit, Forrest, ACT
Entry $5 minimum, concession $2. Refreshments $2.
